Outstanding rendition by artist
Newlyn Roe...

Sadly, this artist is no longer with us and his work is now being passed off as WW2 period originals, the high prices suggest many are falling for it. Fact is that Kensington Market in London had a shop called "FLAK" that sold his patches for many years. He'd been doing them at least since the early 70's I'm told by a reliable source. That's about the extent of info I have on the guy but what little we do know is certainly worthy of being brought to the surface in his honor.

His work is outstanding in a way that it's his own rendition, in a period correct style, and the colors being perfectly muted. I've re-mastered many from his original patches digitally, and have perfectly applied to fine lambskin leather. It's very strong and nicely flexible.

"MASTERS SERIES"
What you'll find in this category are ww2 Squadron insignia renditions from some of the finest in our little cottage industry. Essentially Fine Art in patch form. An art quality printer using resin based pigment ink as opposed to the every day home printer using dye colors results in an image that'll stand the test of time. The substrate is basically the equivalent of a WW2 period correct man-made leather known as "leatherette"
It is an extremely tough and resilient material compared to natural leather and was frequently used during WW2 for Squadron Insignia, actually more common than paint on leather...
