I call this catagory "REAL SERIES" as it is the EXACT same artwork that was period hand painted on a piece of leather. It was most likely intended for the M-422 Leather Flight Jacket and maybe the later G-1 as others were embroidered. This is among the very few insignia painted for the USN back in the day...
My process is by modern means but as you can see, this would be the most authentic and realisting patch of this Squadron you'll find anywhere. Aged to perfection with my carefully applied patina on a fine but very strong lambskin leather...
