Realize that the USMC was extremely rigid when it came to insignia, 99.9% were printed or embroidered. This is a re-mastered faithful copy of one of the only hand painted originals. As crude as it is, this is what it was exactly. I believe it was painted on a thin OD material like the M-41 Field Jacket by the looks of it. I used a heavier cotton for durability. Visually, the image is exactly the same...
