Made to look just like the original decal applied to leather disk patch, this is a faithful copy of the original art used for the official insignia and not an artists rendition. Simple, the USMC and USN hardley ever allowed hand painted insignia for wear on any uniform. This is what the patch looked like as seen in the last photo marked "ORIGINAL" i at the bottom right.
We're taking a new approach to fill the gap in between modern commercial art and true reproduction...doesn't get any closer folks...
